Debi has put together a fun schedule for us to follow along with and the first order of business (which was meant to happen yesterday, I am, as ever, a little behind!!) is to host a giveaway. So here goes, my first ever blog giveaway.....
I am giving away two lengths of lovely cotton.
Both are a little more than 2 metres and about 115cm wide. I bought them both because they're so pretty, but I know they are not my style, I wouldn't wear a garment made with them, but I'm sure there are lots of lovelies out there who would look fabulous in them.
To enter, just leave me a comment letting me know how you follow my blog, you must be a follower to enter, and if you like, let me know how you would use the fabric. I'd love to know.
The giveaway is open until midnight GMT Sunday 10th February 2013 and I will randomly select the winner on Monday 11th February 2013 (which also happens to be my birthday, yay!).
Good luck everyone!
Alice xx
Would love to win. Found you starting at the perfect nose and then through the sew grateful giveaways list. Cannot follow you however, you do not have the google follower thing up. The flowers will make a beautiful skirt. the birds i'm a little fuzzy on, maybe a blouse? or another skirt?
ReplyDeleteYou can still follow her, just click on and copy her address from the address bar at the top of the screen, then go to your own blogger dashboard and over on the left is your Reader List, and there is a button that says ADD. Click that and a new box pops up and you paste in her address. Hope this helps you add lots of lovely new blogs to your reader.
DeleteCould you please put me in the running for the hummingbird fabric - if I received that piece of loveliness I have a blouse pattern that would suit it perfectly! I shall be a follower.
ReplyDeleteI love the hummingbird fabric! and I follow you via bloglovin

Both of these are lovely! I can imagine either being made up into summer dresses. I'm following via Google Reader :)
ReplyDeleteI love your blog because like me your pretty new to sewing and it really inspired me to have a bash at dressmaking after seeing how great ur handmade items are. I love your pendrell blouse in that fantastic blue, I'd love to try making my own in that gorgeous flower fabric. The hummingbird fabric would make a gorgeous crescent skirt :-). I follow via blogger.
ReplyDeleteHey Leanne, I'm so happy to hear that I helped inspire you to get sewing. Looking forward to checking out your blog. I had initially planned to make a crescent skirt with the hummingbird fabric as well, but, like I said, I just don't think I'd wear it, although I think it would be a great piece! x
DeleteI came here via Debi's Sew Grateful Week. I love both of the fabrics. I think the floral would make a great dress, and the hummingbirds would be a pretty blouse!
ReplyDeleteFantastic giveaway! Thanks for participating in the Sew Grateful Week! Count me in for this giveaway ( i found you on bloglovin')
ReplyDeleteHi, thank you for the wonderful giveaway opportunity! I follow you on bloglovin'. I would love either fabric to make a wonderful blouse since that is probably my next sewing goal. Love them both equally so please enter me for either, and thank you again!
ReplyDeleteLovely fabrics, especially the hummingbird one! I would make pretty skirts with them. I follow your blog with Google Reader. Thanks for the awesome giveaway!
ReplyDeleteI also came here via sew grateful week :) Both choices are very beautiful, and it is hard to decide, but the one with the birds is more appealing - it would make a great shirt! Thank you!
ReplyDeleteI'm following via blogger :)
Love the bird fabric, so pretty. Found you through Sew Grateful. Am going to follow you right now!
ReplyDeleteOooh, lovely fabrics! I've actually been wanting to make a dress out of the hummingbird fabric having seen it online, but never got round to it. Being 2m I would probably make a 1940s style blouse with it- puffed sleeves, gathered shoulders and a notched collar. The other is less my own style but I know my little girl would probably love it for a summer dress! I found you through Debi and now follow via Google reader.
ReplyDeleteI didn't see a way on your blog to follow but I have copied you blog URL into my Reader List. Love both fabrics! The bird fabric would make a really pretty 1940s blouse.

That bird fabric is adorable! Definitely a blouse from that and a little zip-up bag from the leftovers. The flowery pattern is beautiful for summer; I could see a really cute strap dress in that.
ReplyDeleteI follow you on Google Reader. xox
I follow your blog and I am madly in love with the bird print. I would probably make a shirt out of it, and as for the other fabric, I'm thinking a dress or maybe a skirt. So much fun!
ReplyDeleteThe hummingbirds are just too adorable. I think it would make a cute dress or simple top. Please count me in! I'm following on bloglovin.com
ReplyDeleteOh those are just lovely! I especially like the birds, I'd make it into either a dress or a 1940's blouse. Thanks for such a lovely giveaway!
ReplyDeleteI'm a follower via bloglovin.
(PS I love your header image, it's very cute!)
That bird fabric is amazing! I'd make a waistcoat
ReplyDeleteand I follow you via greader
These are lovely fabrics! I would make a skirt, or maybe a top. I follow you via google reader.
ReplyDeleteHi there, these fabrics are beautiful! The birds are a definite blouse. And the floral, I'm not sure. I picture something crafty or home decor. Don't think I would wear that fabric, but i love to look at it! I will follow your blog via google +. I am hosting a giveaway on my blog as well thru Sew Grateful Week.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the chance to win this lovely giveaway! Both of them are so beautiful.
ReplyDeleteI think i will make a blouse with it. I follow via GFC
I just started following your blog :)
ReplyDeleteThose fabrics are soo pretty! I would definitely use the top one for a sarong skirt or dress and the later one for a blouse. Perfect!
Lovely fabrics! I can see a skirt for me and/or something for my daughter... actually, I think the bird fabric might work as a pleated skirt for her. I'm really slow at getting things done, but do stop by and visit me at http://www.dolcideleria.com to see what happens! (I follow you via Google Reader.)
ReplyDeleteThese are both lovely. I think I would make the top fabric into a full, pleated skirt for summertime. I like the bottom fabric for a simple blouse, or maybe a wrap dress. So glad I found your blog!
ReplyDeleteSorry... following using Feedly/Google Reader.
DeleteI actually found you through the giveaways, and I'm so glad I did. Your blue Pendrell blouse is so gorgeous! I would use that adorable hummingbird fabric as the lining for the body of a super structured, edgy blazer. I think it would be a fun surprise inside. :)
ReplyDeleteThanks Abby, so glad you like my Pendrell, it's definitely the most worn of my me-mades!! x
DeleteI've just added your blog to my blogger reader list - what a great giveaway! Two very lovely fabrics!! And do you draw as well - I just love you're logo!!
ReplyDeleteHey Beccie, Thanks for entering the giveaway. I do occasionally draw, but I didn't draw my blog logo, I passed that task on to my fiance who is much better at drawing than me. I shall pass on your compliment, he'll be very pleased!! x
DeleteI added your blog to Google Reader.
ReplyDeleteThank you for the wonderful giveaway! Cheers!!
Count me in. These are great fabrics!
ReplyDeleteYou're in my Google reader! These are fab fabrics. Both are lovely. I think it might have to be the humming birds though that wins.
ReplyDeleteLovely giveaway, thanks
ReplyDeleteThat bird fabric is the best! I'm following you on blogger -- thanks for the giveaway.
ReplyDeleteI am so glad (or should I say "sew grateful") that I found your blog! I really love your style. I also love that hummingbird fabric! Gray with white bows and black birds - what more could a girl ask for? Love it! Where did you get it, just in case I don't win - I probably need to have it - hahaha. Thanks :)
ReplyDeletep.s. now following with blogger
I got the fabric from one of my local fabric shops here in London, but I'll have a look at the selvedge for you and see if there are some more details, before I send it off the winner! Thanks for entering the giveaway.
DeleteI think I've got a few minutes left to enter the giveaway. If I'm too late, that's ok because I love reading your blog anyway. Happy blogging.
